Final Essay
Many students find essay writing difficult and frustrating. They know what they want to say, but when it comes to expressing themselves through an essay they encounter problems. Not only do they have to address the ideas of their topics, but thy have to follow the format. That's why it can be a little intimidating sometimes when it comes time to writing one. In this class we have learned that we shouldn't be scared of writing a essay because it's not as bad as it seems.
Since the beginning of the year I remember as I walked into the class seeing a totally different layout than the rest of my other classes not just by the seating but also the lectures that were given out to us. As to my knowledge I thought that this class wasn't going to be that bad and it was going to be a bit easier than my other classes because we were only working on computers and in the journals. However, I was proved wrong we actually do a lot of work in this class here if we don't keep up we are going to get behind everyone else. Now in present day I could say that I have seen a drastic change not only in myself but also in my writing. For example, my writing skills have increased a lot because I remember at the beginning of the year when i didn't know what to write on a piece of paper to now where I write at least half a page everyday in my journal. Also, I have improved on myself because my creativity as a writer and thinker have increased, now when it comes to writing anything in my classes.
In addition, 3 references that i have from this class that we've gone over is the Emerson Quote story, The Pedestrian, and The Right to Your Opinion. From the Emerson's quote story i have learned that we shouldn't try and follow others but instead stay put to what we believe in and not let others influence what we do with ourselves. Also, from the story of The Pedestrian I have read that if us humans in this generation where we rely so much on technology let it be so much in our everyday life we all humans may end up coming to an end. Not only that but technology has been very advanced to the point that there are robots being created to replace us. Lastly, in the Right To Your Opinion article we read i have come to a conclusion were although there is an amendment that exists which gives us the freedom of speech it's not true because we can't say everything we think due to the fact that we may get in trouble for it. This means that not everyone can express their opinion because someone may not like it, you'll get arrested for it, someone will get offended, you'll be targeted, etc.
To conclude, something that has made me smile in this course is the fact that we all work together as a team. For example, when we had the interviews mostly everyone was trying to help each other with the interview questions and i thought that was cool to help each other out when we needed it. Although my experience in this class has been a roller coaster with our ups and downs I am happy yo know that i took this course where we can express ourselves through writing and work all together as a group and a class.
